Founded in 2016, East + Sunset is a Nashville-based creative agency rooted in the belief that simplicity is powerful. Our work blends intentional brand design, strategic thinking, and storytelling-driven photography to help businesses tell their story in a way that feels authentic, cohesive, and timeless.

About the founder

designer + photographer

In 2014, after years of working as an in-house designer, Courtney decided it was time to trade corporate life for something a little more adventurous. So she packed up her Hyundai, grabbed a big dream, and headed west to Los Angeles. Over the next two years, she built her client list one project at a time as a freelance designer—and in July 2016, East + Sunset officially came to life.

Creativity runs deep in Courtney’s roots. She comes from a family of artists—her grandfather worked in advertising during the iconic Mad Men era, her grandmother taught art at the Museum School in Philadelphia and the Art Institute of Chicago, and her father is a principal at TPG Architecture in NYC. Carrying on that legacy felt natural.

Today, Courtney is a brand designer, photographer, and mom of two—balancing creative strategy with snack breaks and story time. She’s passionate about beauty in simplicity, fluent across design platforms, and always up for a good creative challenge. Through East + Sunset, she brings heart, history, and a whole lot of intention into every brand story she helps tell.
